Charlaine Harris :-D

Charlaine Harris is probably my favorite author currently with her brilliant use of interesting situations and imaginative plotlines with a Southern twist. I've been reading the Sookie Stackhouse series or Southern Vampire series for quite some time now, but I decided while I was waiting for the new book to come out in paperback I would try a different series - The Shakespeare series or Lily Bard series filled the gap. I'm now reading the third Shakespeare book - Shakespeare's Christmas and am 2 books behind in the Sookie Stackhouse series!! Lol - I'm now hooked on what's going to happen to Lily Bard - although I do have Sookie waiting on the shelf. I could easily give both series 5/5 stars :-D The only quirk of both of these series is that the main character, a female, always has several guys after her at once - lol - I just find that kinda cute :-P

Synopses:
Shakespeare's Landlord - Lily Bard has been a cleaning lady for various locals for about 4 years when something out of the ordinary finally happens in the small town of Shakespeare, AK. The Landlord of the apartment building next to her house turns up dead and she finds herself unwittingly involved in the search for who committed the crime. Little does she know that she may be closer than she thinks to the killer. Funny how much you learn about people when you're a cleaning lady and you have a reputation for never telling a secret :-D

Shakespeare's Champion - Several murders have occurred in Shakespeare, AK since Lily's last adventure, but funny thing is, they seem to all be connected even though all of them occurred under different circumstances. You'll never believe where this story takes you as white extremists surface in sleepy Shakespeare and race relations become uber-strained. Regardless of the title speaking of a different Champion in the story, I believe it's safe to say that Lily proves a true champion of humanity.

Well, I've been blogging about my knitting for 6 months now and have decided to start blogging about the things I read as well. While I won't be going into much detail, I will give general ratings, synopses, and criticisms. This is basically a way for me to keep track of what I've read, but also a vehicle for passing along those great works (in my opinion) that I think all should read.
